Next generation Canna Coco A & B nutrients from Holland are necessary to ensure that your plants provide you with the greatest yields possible when growing in coconut substrates.
Canna Coco is so advanced that both grow and bloom nutrients have been combined into just one A & B mix.
Coco has a great buffer capacity. On the one hand this is an advantage, because it makes growing on CANNA COCO very user-friendly. However, this also makes it difficult to provide the slab, from the beginning, with the right types and amounts of nutrients.
After years of research by way of soil, drain and leaf analyses, CANNA was able to develop a fertiliser, which is specially adapted to the properties of the coco substrate. As CANNA coco contains natural chelates, humic acids and fulvic acids, the plant can optimally absorb all nutrients.
The frequency of feeding depends on the evaporation and the water supply in the Substrate. A general rule is that one daily feed should be sufficient during the first few weeks, then two feeds per day-two hours after the lamps have been turned on and two hours before the lamps are switched off.
As a general rule Canna recommend to give 5 Ltrs a day for fully grown plants.
Do not water the plants too often or give too much. By reducing the watering frequency, optimal water replenishment is established. This improves the capacity of the coconut substrate to absorb all the nutrients, optimizes the drainage and air in the medium and prevents accumulation of salts within the coconut substrate.
If the EC of the irrigation water is higher than 0.6 mS/cm, then it is better ti increase the water dosage until drainage of 20% has been reached.
If the EC of the irrigation water is lower than 0.6 mS/cm, a lower drainage of 10% will suffice. Never use an EC higher than 2.8 mS/cm.
Cannas Coco coconut substrate holds liquid while drain well, however it is still possible to over water. For optimum results regularly check the moisture content of the medium and ensure it is not water logged.
The recommendation given here are, amongst other things, dependant on the environment factors and the quality of the irrigation water.
